The Great Wall and Points South.
A year earlier (June 2008) I was given an opportunity to travel throughout China. I knew June wouldn’t be the ideal time of year for great photos, but as a research trip I knew it would provide me invaluable information for future treks. Beijing, Xi'an, Shanghai, Tongli, Suzhou, Yangtze River, Guilin, and Hong Kong were the major stops. Since time was limited I stayed close to Beijing for my solo expeditions to the Great Wall (Badaling section), however during future trips I'll explore less 'civilized' sections of this fascinating structure during the late October and early November.
